Card Game Rules you may not know! (Yugioh!) - Link Summoning

Image
Link Summoning is the newest introduced method of Summoning in the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game. Link summoning added two extra monster zones, where only monsters from the extra can be played, and only one can be used by a player at a time. Link monsters are typically used by sacrificing what monsters are required to link summon, such as 2 effect monsters, or 1 normal monster. This creates the link circuit, where link monsters can point to zones to add new zones to summon link monsters to or to help activate certain effects.  Link circuit image provided by:  Link Summon - Yugipedia - Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki

Card Game Rules you may not know! (Vanguard) - Generation Stride

Image
Generation Stride, introduced in the "G" era of Vanguard cards, is a method of riding in which, by sacrificing cards from the hand, as long as it reaches grade three, you can ride a G Unit from the Generation Zone. This is known as the Stride, where the G unit then takes on the current vanguard's name, power, and skills. Generation Units are typically not played in the current era of vanguard, but are still played casually in friendly matches.  Image of Chronoscommand Dragon provided by:  Cardfight!! Game Rules you may not know! - (Vanguard) Delete

Image
Other than the lock, there is another skill possessed by the Link Joker clan, known as Delete. Delete is a skill possessed only by the Deletors, a special archetype within Link Joker, who have the ability to remove a units, grade, drive check, power, skills, and everything relating to the card, just leaving it as a grade 0 unit with 5000 Power, making your opponent start all over from square one. This is why Delete is typically not played within tournaments unless allowed, as it usually ends up breaking the game. Delete anime image provided by:  Cardfight!! Vanguard Wiki | Fandom

Card Game Rules you may not know! (Vanguard) - Lock

Image
The Vanguard card game has not many different mechanics, but one of the most, if not the strongest mechanic, is the Lock. Lock-ing a card is when you prevent the card from standing, attacking, boosting, activating abilities, in short, a card is completely rendered useless when locked. The lock skill is controlled by a single clan in Vanguard, the Link Joker. While several units in other clans may be able to perform a lock, such as the Reverse units, or perform something similar to lock, such as Megacolony's paralyzation ability, the Lock is strongest as it prevents a player from using a locked card until the end of their next turn.  Lock image provided by:  The Cardfight!! Card of the Day! (10/8/2022) - Dark Necrofear

Image
Dark Necrofear is one of the oldest fiend type boss monster cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! The card was used by duelist Bakura in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV show, as one of his ace monster cards. Dark Necrofear is a level 8, Dark Attribute, Fiend Effect monster, with 2200 attack points, and 2800 defense points. Dark Necrofear cannot be summoning by tribute summoned, and can only be summoned by banishing 3 fiend-type monsters from the graveyard. When this card is sent to the graveyard by an opponent's monster, it can latch itself onto a monster as an equip card, allowing the player of Dark Necrofear to control the equipped monster.  Dark Necrofear Image and Info provided by:  Dark Necrofear - Yugipedia - Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki

Card Game rules you may not know! - Yu-Gi-Oh! (XYZ)

Image
Xyz summoning is one of Yu-Gi-Oh's many summoning methods. This method requires the use of multiple monsters of the same level (sometimes of the same attribute as well), in order to build the overlay network, combining the monster's powers and summoning a Xyz monster card, who has a black coloring to it. Xyz monsters have abilities that require the usage of overlay units, which are the monsters used to build the overlay network for the summoning of that monster.   The Legend of Blue Eyes set, being one of the first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! sets in existence, is well known for having some of the most expensive cards to ever be printed. Such is true of the Grade 10, 1st edition Blue Eyes White Dragon from said booster set. As previously stated, a grade 10 card is super expensive, not because of the foil printing, but because of how good condition the card is in. A Grade 10 card means perfect condition, period. The card shown above was recently priced at 85,000 dollars, just for a single copy of said card. Image and Information provided by:  The most rare and expensive Yu-Gi-Oh cards in 2022 | Wargamer

Card Game Rules you may not know! - Yu-gi-oh! (Synchro)

Image
One of the more complicated methods of summoning monsters within the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game is the Synchro summoning method. Synchro summoning is when you tune two or more monsters together, typically a  tuner monster and whatever else the synchro card you are summoning requires. To complete a synchro summon, the card needs what type of tuner and other monsters are needed to summon, who's levels add up to the level of the desired synchro monster.
